Charging Up Koko Head

In album

Today was our first time attacking Koko Head. Jen made it a third of the way up, Katie and I halfway. With no planning or gear (I was in slippers!) on a hot afternoon, we'll take it. I love that my wife basically caught sight of the mountain out the window of the car and said, "Let's go for it."

Photosphere vs. Bubbli app

Google's Android OS has a camera app feature called 'Photospheres' that creates 360-degree panoramas, though you should view them through an Android device for the full effect. The new Bubbli app on iOS is described as the equivalent. Here's a comparison of the same scene:

I like the stitching in Bubbli better, and the web player is a little more friendly for people looking at these images without the hardware. But if you and all your friends are on Android, having Photosphere support built in is great.

Have a blast with this new game from a Honolulu developer

For most people, fishing is a relaxing pastime that offers an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and a few moments of peaceful reflection. For everyone else, there’s “Grenade Fishing."

Reshared post from +Hawaii Blog

Available for iOS (iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch), “Grenade Fishing” is the creation of Jacob Pollock of Jolly Pumpkins Productions. Pollack’s day job is as a materials engineer at local research and development firm Oceanit.

Brunch at Big City Diner in Kaimuki

In album

It was a 30-minute wait for a table for eight, so we took two booths instead to celebrate my stepmom's birthday. My dad, a 30+ year Army Reserves retiree, enjoyed the week's "free fries for veterans" special. Then, before my brother +Eathan Ozawa and I could nab it, dad picked up the tab, too.
