Starting Real Estate Classes

It's been a New Years resolution for a few years, and I'm finally going for it, charging forward alongside +Mike Torres, my coworker at +Hawaii Information Service. We've both worked in the industry for a while, so why not get to know our field better, and better serve our customers?

But it's an intense schedule. Thursday and Friday nights 5:30pm to 9:30pm, then all day Saturday. After a long week and long day at work, we're going to be running on fumes. The finish line is fortunately just four weeks away.

And good thing Abe Lee is fun to listen to, and the material (so far) fairly digestible. One month from now, hopefully we'll pass the test and get our lives back!

Kona Wind Landing in Honolulu

Now and then, when kona winds blow, air traffic at Honolulu International Airport reverses direction. Planes take off to the southwest, and approach from the northeast to land. Those days bring passengers great views of the south shore of Oahu.

Here's video of my landing at HNL from a day trip to Kona on Tuesday. The sun was just starting to set, bringing some nice golden colors to the island below.

Dogecoin History in Hawaii

Thanks to ICanHasCheezburger founder +Eric Nakagawa, Honolulu is continuing to make its mark in the cryptocurrency scene. Eric used dogecoin to buy a pizza from J.J. Dolan's in downtown Honolulu.

Now the story's been picked up by the Washington Post:

Green Apple Wins Startup Weekend Honolulu

Another +Startup Weekend has hit Honolulu, and as always the winners are an interesting mix of ideas and approaches.

The top prize went to Green Apple, a crowdfunding app to help teachers buy school supplies. My pick was NameHub (by +Mark Quezada and +Tiffany Quezada), a place for domain name addicts like me to share what we own, see what others have, and come up with ways to actually use them.

Saimin Burger

In album 2014-02-07

Now that the "ramen burger" and "saimin burger" war of words is over, my coworker and I decided to try one of the latter from L&L. Took a while to come out, but it was no two-hour line. And while it was pretty plain (I'm not sure I'd even bother with the lettuce), it was tasty. Salty, but not nearly as salty as I was expecting.

What I'd like to see is a "cake noodle" burger, with the noodles prepared Chinese style and the burger flavored with a little oyster sauce!
