Saturday brings the fifth Unconferenz, a great grassroots geek gathering that's been the launchpad for countless great ideas. It also will host the third +Ignite Honolulu, part of a global phenomenon that prompts people to share their passions in a fun, fast-paced format. I'm helping +Burt Lum pull it together, with the solid support of +Chris Ota and +Christine Koroki.

Presenters include +John Garcia, +Peter Kay, Ken Berkun, Henry Mochida, Kevin Vaccarello, Sheba Najmi and Mick Thompson (of +Code for America) and +Tim O'Reilly. Yes, Tim O'Reilly of O'Reilly Media, where the Ignite phenomenon was born five years ago.

Hawaiian Photowalk on the Island of Oahu — anyone up for it? I was thinking of organizing a photowalk on March 4th, Sunday, in Waikiki on the day of the Honolulu Festival and Fireworks show… Is there anyone out there who can get the word out to other photographers for us to have a meetup and photowalk on this evening around sundown / fireworks time? +Wes Lum has a few ideas for who to contact. Anyone else? Unfortunately we'll miss +Doug Kaye who's heading out of town just before that weekend.
